SKÖVDE, Sweden, 10th June 2024 - Piktiv are proud to announce that the indie survival viking hit Valheim is now available on Mac via the Mac App Store thanks to the collaboration between the team and developers of Valheim at Iron Gate. Players around the world can now experience the tenth norse realm on their Mac devices.
Valheim is a game of brutal exploration and survival for 1-10 players set in a procedurally-generated purgatory inspired by viking culture, developed by Iron Gate and published by Coffee Stain Publishing. Now available via the Mac App Store and Steam on Mac, the game has been fully ported by Piktiv including all gameplay and server features that players are used to on PC and Xbox.
Piktiv and Iron Gate have a long history of working together, from porting Valheim to PC Game Pass and Microsoft store to working together on the networking backend of crossplay support. Both studios are excited to advance Valheim’s journey through releasing on Mac and making it possible for even more players to experience the rich, beautiful world that Iron Gate has built.
“Piktiv has once again proven to be a reliable partner to us after the amazing work they’ve done porting Valheim to PC Game Pass and Microsoft Store. Their team has gone above and beyond, and we’re excited that players can finally play Valheim on Mac!” says Iron Gate developer Jonathan Smårs.
