Spring Adventures in the Game Development World

Otto Kivling

During the spring, Piktiv attended several game development conferences around the world.

Game Developers Conference

As spring started coming to Sweden, Piktiv embarked on an exciting journey to one of the most notable events in the game development industry, namely the GDC (Game Developers Conference).

GDC is a melting pot of innovation, creativity, and networking. We had the privilege of attending insightful conference talks on everything from AI and tools to hardcore programming.

At GDC we saw Valheim being showcased at Unity’s booth as one of the very successful games that use Unity as its engine. It was a blast seeing it there, especially as Piktiv has worked with the team behind Valheim on porting and other programming-related things

In addition to the conference, we visited many social gatherings in the evening, where the Nordic Game Party and Pragma party stood out.

Develop Blue Conference

In April, Marcus Bjering and I traveled to the beautiful city of Dubrovnik for the Develop Blue Conference. Unlike the busy GDC, Develop Blue offers a more intimate and laid-back atmosphere and environment.

The setting of Dubrovnik is the perfect backdrop for meaningful conversations and networking. One of the unique aspects of Develop Blue is the ability to have business meetings by the pool, blending work with a touch of vacation.

Nordic Game Conference

Our conference visits concluded in May when we visited the Nordic Game Conference in Malmö. I have visited this event many times, and it brings together many Swedish game developers. We had the opportunity to reconnect with many familiar faces and meet new ones in business and casual meetings.

If you see the Piktiv hoodie at any conference you attend, don’t be a stranger and hit us up. We love talking about how we could help you with your gnarly technical problems, porting needs, technology, and programming in general.
